About Us

Barbara has been passionate about helping men and women change their lives and feel good about themselves for more than 50 years. An Electrologist and brow and waxing specialist since 1970, Barbara brings a level of expertise in Permanent Hair Removal and brow shaping rarely seen in the beauty industry.

She began her career managing salons and conducting training for Carol Block, whose mother was the storied Ruth Young Block, a Chicagoland beauty expert. Barbara opened her own salon in 1980 and later became a partner with Kimberly Hood to create Studio 21 Salon & Day Spa. Currently the two women have created a new salon experience at Kimberly K Hair Studio.

“I have a real passion for what I do,” Barbara says. “I get so much satisfaction out of helping people feel their best. I never want to give that up.”
